Build Beyond Foundation is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit created from lived experience, compassion, and an unshakable belief that families deserve more than survival. Founded by Miriam Lovejoy, the Foundation exists to walk alongside low-income families and parents with children across the Dallas–Fort Worth area—meeting immediate needs while helping build lasting independence.
What began as one woman showing up for others has grown into a long-term, multi-phase mission to break cycles of hardship and replace them with opportunity, resilience, and hope.
OUR WHY
Too many families are forced to choose between warmth and groceries, between school supplies and rent, between asking for help and holding onto dignity. Build Beyond Foundation was created to stand in that gap—with grace, empathy, and practical support.
We believe help should feel human.

Our Founder: Miriam Lovejoy
Miriam Lovejoy’s story is one of survival turned into purpose.
Raised in an environment shaped by instability, addiction, and trauma, Miriam learned resilience long before she knew the word. Instead of allowing her past to define her, she chose to confront it—through faith, healing, education, and relentless self-work.
Today, Miriam is a proud mother of five and a graduate student at Southern Methodist University. Her journey through poverty, mental health challenges, and generational hardship fuels her calling: to ensure that no family feels unseen, unsupported, or forgotten.
Build Beyond Foundation is the embodiment of her belief that pain does not disqualify you— it can prepare you.
